Brinston Family HomePage
We're so happy that you stopped by the Brinston HomePage, where you can meet and greet family members, day or night, near and far. This homepage is dedicated to the preservation and cultivation of our family, spanning past, present and future generations.
We will accomplish our goal by documenting and capturing historical events - interviews of family members, personal biographies, family trees, family photos, etc. Once you have visited the related links to this page, you will become familiar with the types of items that are being solicited.
In addition, we will also focus our attention toward increased family interpersonal communication (see section below). This is a massive, yet rewarding effort which requires each family to contribute as much as possible. Please send us your ideas to help make this an exceptional experience.
Ways To Stay In Touch With Your KINFOLK
PERSONAL VISIT: By far, the best choice. Local visits to relatives cost virtually nothing (gas). Long distance visits to relatives can be planned as a fun family vacation. warning: in order to have a quality visit, it's probably best to call before you go to ensure that your family members are not busy!
E-MAIL: Quick, inexpensive, state-of-the art technology; lots of people have taken the plunge and are now on-line. For some, it's their primary method of communication and you may not get their attention any other way.
POSTCARD, LETTER or GREETING CARD, VIDEO TAPE: Little time required, inexpensive; receiving items in the mail is a nice surprise because it's not your "traditional" method of communication any more. Besides, it's a pleasant surprise to receive mail other than bills!
SMALL GIFT ITEM: A little more time consuming, relatively inexpensive; because people don't typiclaly expect gifts "just because," this is a nice touch. This one should go a long way with children and seniors.
FAMILY GATHERINGS: Families often gather for special occassions - holidays, family reunions, weddings and funerals. Quite often, these events are months, if not years, apart. Make a grand event out of everything - Aunt Mable's 62nd birthday, baptismals, report card markings, etc. Something as simple as a Sunday luncheon or picnic for any of these events can bring the family together yet once again.
TELEPHONE CALL: Immediate gratification, inexpensive(???), "typical" avenue of communication; not to be underated for its benefits as our primary communication tool, but the telephone can sometimes be intrusive, if not annoying.
