WELCOME to the Family Matters Home Page

pix of mother&child Welcome one and all to Family Matters, the Home Page dedicated to the preservation and cultivation of family communication. Throughout your cyber-visit with us, you will meet two of many typical families attempting to "stay connected." Their efforts are migrated through the establishment and/or maintainence of geneology documentation, as well as staying in communication with family members. We hope that you will enjoy your visit and will write us to let us know what you think about our Home Page.

FAMILY ROOTS
Since the debut of Alex Haley's"Roots," many families have embraced the important task of tracing their lineage. In doing so, we can discover many facts about our forefathers - sometimes beneficial, sometimes alarming, but in most cases probably just plain old informational. The human need to feel "connected" is no doubt one of the primary driving forces for families to invest time and resources into their ancestry search. What a wonderful way for the generation gap to be bridged if every generation simply provided just-in-time information about their family members. It's often said that "the children are our future," but without a past, how can they move progressively forward?
We invite you to stop by and be our guest to witness history in the making for the Ledbetter Family.

FAMILY TIES
After the Geneology legwork has been done, the really hard part begins . . . staying in touch with family members. In today's whirlwind rat race, major effort is required to have a social telephone conversation after work. The responsibility of work and family has many of us not knowing which direction to turn to next.
Yet, the pressure of the family connection beyond our immediate unit is still upon us. In an effort to remain connected, we feel compelled to call, visit, write, page and/or e-mail to "stay in the loop." For many of us, we find comfort in knowing that come rain or shine, the grand, traditional family gathering that everyone looks forward to will bring them together yet once again . . . the Family Reunion! Please come by to visit with the Brinston Family as they prepare for their Millineum Family Reunion.
